Ray Knowland CBE retired in March 1992 as a Managing Director of the British Petroleum Company.
Ray has contributed his expertise as a Board Member to international charities and we are delighted to have him as a Trustee on our Board. Ray’s acute insight into the workings of the charity and a practical sensible approach is invaluable in the management of the charity. His Board roles in British Petroleum included responsibility for BP’s Research & Development, the Corporate Head Office, The Pension Council and Corporate Human Resources. He was Chairman of BP Chemicals, BP Nutrition, BP Solar and Kaldair. Mr Knowland was responsible for the Polyolefins and Styrene Polymers businesses, for Personnel & Administration and External Affairs.
He was appointed Chief Executive of BP Chemicals in 1983, and a Board Member of Erdolchemie and of BP Chemie until 1990.
